With the majestic and pristine snow capped peaks of Meili, Baimang & Haba mountains calling our name, Zinc l InVision Hospitality is very pleased to announce that our first project in China will be ‘Arro Khampa by Zinc Journey’.
Opening in 3Q12, the 20 room hotel will be situated in the heart of historic Old Town Shangri-la with stunning views of the natural surroundings that many call “Almost Heaven”. Nestled amongst winding rivers & stone lanes, this 1300-year-old Tibetan town, with authentic dwellings, majestic prayer halls and pagodas, offers a sanctuary to all.Our goal is to preserve and support this rich, indigenous lifestyle. The traditional build & rustic design will add to the experience and immerse guests in the rich and vibrant culture of the local people.
Arro Khampa by Zinc Journey is the first in what will be a series of Zinc Journey destinations following the footsteps of the local forefathers who traveled and traded their way across the vast Tibetan plateau in pursuit of adventure and new ideas. Like their journey that began in Shangri-la and is known as the ‘Tea Horse Caravan Trail’, the Zinc Journey explorations will travel throughout Yunnan Province, including LiJiang, Dali & Tibet. These intimate & independent excursions are what make travels with Zinc Journey so special; they are tailor made for the adventurous traveler who wants to walk off the beaten path and see more culture and less commercial, more blue sky & less skyscrapers.
